Finding Your Way Around
Flock is built around five main tabs at the bottom of your screen. Everything you need is within one or two taps, and the app is designed so that even someone using it for the first time can find what they are looking for.
Let us walk through each section.
The Bottom Navigation Bar
At the bottom of the screen, you will see five tabs that take you to the main areas of the app:
Home
Your dashboard and starting point. Here you will find:
- Stats at a glance — Members see their prayer count and event streak. Leaders see group size, attendance rate, and at-risk member count.
- Announcements — Important messages from your group leaders, scrollable as cards.
- Profile completeness — A friendly prompt to finish setting up your profile (photo, phone number, preferences).
- Feed cards — Birthday celebrations, upcoming events, and gentle reminders like "Your group meets tomorrow."
The Home tab is designed to give you a snapshot of everything happening in your group without making you dig through menus.
Prayers
The Prayer Wall — the heart of your group's spiritual life. Here you can:
- Browse all prayer requests from your group
- Submit a new prayer by tapping the + button
- Pray for others by tapping the heart icon on any prayer
- Add encouragement — write a supportive message
- Mark prayers as answered to celebrate what God has done
- Search prayers by keyword or use AI-powered search to find prayers by meaning
- Filter prayers — All, My Prayers, Unanswered, or Answered
Leaders also see private prayers that members submit for leader eyes only.
Events
Everything related to your group's meetings and gatherings:
- Upcoming events — See what is next on the schedule
- Past events — Look back at previous meetings
- Needs Attention (leaders only) — Events where attendance has not been recorded yet
- RSVP with one tap — Let your leader know if you are going, maybe, or not going
- Event details — Date, time, location, description, and any attachments
- Create new events (leaders) — Set up one-time or recurring gatherings
Chat
Real-time messaging for staying connected between meetings:
- Group chat — The main conversation space for your whole group
- Chat groups — Smaller sub-conversations for committees, prayer partners, or event planning
- Direct messages — Private one-on-one conversations
- Bible verse sharing — Type
/verseto look up and share scripture - GIF support — Send animated GIFs from the Giphy library

Roster
Your group's member list:
- Member profiles — See names, photos, roles, and contact info
- Contact members — Call, text, or email directly from the roster
- Profile visibility — Each member controls what information is visible to others
- Invite new members — Bring more people into your group
The Header Bar
At the top of every screen, you will find helpful controls:
- Group selector — If you belong to multiple groups, tap the dropdown to switch between them. Each group has its own Prayer Wall, events, chat, and roster.
- Group avatar — A visual indicator showing which group you are viewing.
- Profile icon — Tap to access your personal profile and app settings.
- Notifications bell — See recent alerts for prayer updates, event reminders, chat messages, and more.
What Leaders See vs. Members
Flock adjusts what you see based on your role:
Members see:
- Prayer Wall (public prayers)
- Events with RSVP
- Group chat
- Member roster
- Their own stats and celebrations
Leaders see everything members see, plus:
- Private prayer requests
- Attendance tracking tools (photo and manual)
- At-risk member alerts
- Insights dashboard with trends and analytics
- "Needs Attention" tab for events missing attendance
- Group management tools
Organization admins and pastors also have access to the admin dashboard, where they can see data across all campuses, ministries, and groups.
Tips for Getting Comfortable
Tap around freely. Flock is designed so you cannot break anything by exploring. Tap into different tabs, open a prayer card, look at an event — the best way to learn is to try things.
Start with the Prayer Wall. Submitting or praying for a request is the fastest way to get a feel for the app. It takes five seconds and shows you how the community features work.
Check the Home tab daily. It gives you a quick view of what is new — birthdays, upcoming events, and any prayers that need your attention. Think of it as your group's front page.
Enable notifications. Turn on push notifications so you know when someone posts a prayer, an event is coming up, or there is a new chat message. You can customize exactly which notifications you receive in Settings.
