Member's Guide to Staying Connected with Your Church Group

Submit prayer requests, chat with your group, and RSVP to events — all in one simple app.

Your Group Leader Invited You — Here's How to Make the Most of Flock

Your group leader uses Flock to keep your small group connected between meetings. Think of it as your group's home base: a place to share prayer requests, chat with each other, see upcoming events, and stay in the loop — all in one app.

You do not need to learn anything complicated. If you can send a text message, you can use Flock. This guide walks you through the basics.

Quick Start: 3 Things to Do First

  1. Accept your invite — Your leader sent you an invitation by email, text, or join code. Tap the link or enter the code to join your group. You can sign in with Google or create an account with your email.

  2. Submit your first prayer — Open the Prayer Wall and share something that is on your heart. Your group wants to pray for you — let them.

  3. RSVP to the next event — Check the Events tab and let your leader know if you are coming to the next meeting. One tap is all it takes.

That is it. You are connected.

Key Features for Members

Prayer Wall — Share What's on Your Heart

The Prayer Wall is where your group shares prayer requests and lifts each other up. You can post what you are going through, and your group can respond with prayer and encouragement.

Here is what you can do:

  • Submit a prayer request — Tap the "+" button, write what is on your heart, and choose who can see it. "Public" means everyone in the group. "Private" means only your group leader — for the things you need prayer for but are not ready to share with everyone.

  • Pray for others — When you see a request from someone in your group, tap the heart icon to let them know you prayed. They will see how many people are lifting them up.

  • Encourage someone — Write a short note of encouragement on any prayer. Sometimes a kind word means as much as the prayer itself.

  • Celebrate answered prayers — When God answers, mark your prayer as "Answered." Your group celebrates with you.

You can also filter prayers to see just your own, just unanswered requests, or just the ones that have been answered. And everything updates in real time, so you always see the latest.

Group Chat — Message Your Group Anytime

Stay in touch with your group between meetings. Flock's built-in chat lets you send messages, share updates, ask questions, or just say hello.

A few things you will love:

  • Bible verse search — Type /verse followed by a reference (like /verse John 3:16) to instantly share a scripture passage in the chat. You can also search by topic.

  • GIFs and reactions — Keep the conversation fun. React to messages or share a GIF when words are not enough.

  • Chat Groups — Your leader might set up smaller conversations for specific purposes, like a prayer team or event planning committee. You will only see the Chat Groups you are part of.

Everything stays in one place, so you do not have to scroll through a dozen group texts to find what someone said last Tuesday.

Events — See What's Coming and RSVP

Your leader creates events for group meetings, socials, service projects, and more. You will see them all in the Events tab.

How it works:

  • Browse upcoming events — See the title, date, time, and location at a glance.

  • RSVP with one tap — Let your leader know if you are "Going," "Maybe," or "Can't Make It." That is it — no reply-all text threads.

  • Get reminders — Flock sends a reminder before the event so you do not forget.

  • See who else is going — Check the RSVP list to see which members are planning to attend.

Your leader uses RSVP responses to plan — how many chairs to set up, how much food to prepare, whether to adjust the meeting plan. Your one-tap response makes a real difference.

Your Profile — Manage Your Info and Preferences

Your profile is where you control how Flock works for you:

  • Contact information — Keep your name, email, and phone number up to date so your leader can reach you.

  • Profile photo — Add a photo so the group can put a face to a name. Your photo also helps the AI attendance feature recognize you in group photos.

  • Prayer preferences — Choose how you want to be notified about prayer activity: when someone prays for your request, when a new prayer is posted, or when a prayer is answered.

  • Notification settings — Turn notifications on or off for chat messages, event reminders, and prayer updates.

You are always in control of what you see and when you see it.
