Who Can Send Announcements?
Your announcement reach depends on your role:
- Org Admins can send to the entire organization, any campus, ministry, or group
- Campus Pastors can send to their campus and its ministries and groups
- Ministry Directors can send to their ministry and its groups
- Group Leaders can send to their own group
Creating an Announcement
- Open Flock and navigate to the Announcements tab.
- Tap the + button to create a new announcement.
- Choose your scope — organization, campus, ministry, or group.
- Write your announcement with rich text formatting.
- Optionally attach files — images, PDFs, or other documents.
- Tap Send to broadcast immediately.
Push Notifications
All members in the targeted scope receive a push notification on their phone. Members can manage their notification preferences in Settings.
Delivery Tracking
After sending, you can see how many members received your announcement. This helps you understand your reach without relying on read receipts.
Tips for Effective Announcements
Keep it concise. Members are more likely to read short, focused announcements than long ones. If you need to share detailed information, attach a document or link to a page.
Use the right scope. An announcement about a campus-specific event should go to that campus, not the entire organization. Targeted announcements respect people's attention.
Time it well. Avoid sending announcements late at night or early in the morning. Members receive push notifications immediately, so consider when your message will land.
