How It Works
When a leader sends an announcement, you receive an instant push notification on your phone — so you never miss important updates from your church or group.
- A leader sends an announcement to your church, campus, ministry, or group.
- Flock sends a push notification to your phone immediately.
- Tap the notification to read the full announcement with any attachments.
- Find all announcements in the Announcements tab, even if you missed the notification.
Managing Notification Preferences
You can control which announcement notifications you receive:
- Open Flock and go to Settings.
- Tap Notification Preferences.
- Toggle announcement notifications on or off.
No SMS Fees
Unlike SMS-based church communication tools, Flock uses push notifications which are completely free — no per-message costs for your church. This means your church can send unlimited announcements without worrying about messaging bills.
Troubleshooting
If you are not receiving push notifications:
- Check your phone settings. Make sure notifications are enabled for Flock in your phone's Settings app.
- Check in-app settings. Make sure you have not muted notifications in the Flock app.
- Check your connection. Push notifications require an internet connection to be delivered.
- Restart the app. Close Flock completely and reopen it to refresh the notification connection.
