Scope Levels
Flock lets you target announcements to exactly the right audience using four scope levels.
Organization-Wide
Reaches every member in your church. Use for major announcements like service changes, church events, or important updates.
Campus
Reaches all members at a specific campus. Ideal for campus-specific events or schedule changes.
Ministry
Reaches all members in a specific ministry (e.g., Youth Ministry, Women's Ministry). Great for ministry-wide coordination.
Group
Reaches members of a specific group. Perfect for group-specific updates, meeting changes, or shared resources.
Visibility Rules
Members only see announcements for scopes they belong to:
- A member in the Youth Ministry at the Downtown Campus sees org-wide, Downtown Campus, Youth Ministry, and their specific group announcements.
- They do not see announcements for other campuses, ministries, or groups they are not part of.
This means you never have to worry about over-communicating. Each member sees only what is relevant to them.
Leadership Hierarchy
The leadership hierarchy is enforced at every level. You can only announce at or below your leadership scope:
| Role | Can Announce To |
|---|---|
| Org Admin | Organization, any campus, any ministry, any group |
| Campus Pastor | Their campus, its ministries, its groups |
| Ministry Director | Their ministry, its groups |
| Group Leader | Their group only |
A campus pastor cannot send org-wide announcements, and a group leader cannot send campus-wide announcements. This keeps communication clear and appropriately scoped.
