Prayer Wall: Never Lose a Prayer Request Again

Last updated: February 20, 2026

One Place for Every Prayer

Every small group has a prayer time. Someone shares a need, others nod and promise to pray, and by the next meeting — most of the group has forgotten what was said. Requests get lost in text threads, scribbled on napkins, or simply fade from memory.

Flock's Prayer Wall changes that. It is a shared, living feed where every prayer request lives, every encouragement is recorded, and every answered prayer is celebrated. Nothing gets lost. Nothing gets forgotten.

How the Prayer Wall Works

The Prayer Wall is a dedicated space inside your group in the Flock app. Every member can see it, post to it, and interact with it. Here is what happens on the wall:

Submitting a Prayer Request

Any member can submit a prayer request by tapping the "+" button on the Prayer Wall. They write what is on their heart and choose a privacy level:

  • Public — Visible to every member in the group. Use this for requests you are comfortable sharing openly, like a job interview coming up or a family member in the hospital.

  • Private — Visible only to your group leader. For the things that need prayer but feel too personal to share with everyone — a struggling marriage, a financial hardship, a health scare. Your leader sees it and can pray for you and follow up, but the rest of the group does not.

Once submitted, the prayer appears on the wall in real time. No refreshing, no waiting.

Step-by-step guide to submitting a prayer

Showing You Have Prayed

When you see a prayer request, you can tap the heart icon to let the person know you have prayed for them. The prayer card shows a running count — "12 people have prayed for this" — so the person who asked for prayer knows they are not alone.

It is a small gesture, but it means a great deal. Knowing that a dozen people in your group lifted your name to God this week can carry someone through a hard season.

Adding Encouragement

Beyond tapping a heart, you can write a word of encouragement directly on any prayer card. A short note — "Praying for you, Sarah. God is faithful." — turns a prayer request into a conversation of care.

Members see every encouragement left on their prayer, and the thread stays attached to the request. Weeks later, they can look back and see every person who showed up for them.

Marking Prayers as Answered

When God answers a prayer, anyone in the group can mark it as "Answered." The prayer card updates with a visual celebration, and the whole group can rejoice together.

Answered prayers do not disappear. They stay on the wall (filterable under "Answered") as a record of God's faithfulness. Over time, your group builds a history of prayers prayed and prayers answered — a powerful reminder that God hears and moves.

Filters: Find What You Need

The Prayer Wall includes simple filters so you can focus on what matters:

  • All Prayers — Everything, in reverse chronological order
  • My Prayers — Just the ones you submitted
  • Unanswered — Active requests that still need prayer
  • Answered — Prayers that have been marked as answered

You can also search prayers by keyword or even by meaning. Flock uses AI-powered search, so typing "health struggles" will surface relevant prayers even if the exact word "health" was not used.

How Leaders Use the Prayer Wall

As a group leader, the Prayer Wall gives you a window into the spiritual and emotional lives of your members. Beyond seeing public prayers, you also see private ones — the requests members share with you alone.

This visibility helps you:

  • Follow up intentionally — You know what your members are carrying, so you can ask about it next week.
  • Spot patterns — If a member submits several prayers about stress at work over a few weeks, that is a signal to check in more deeply.
  • Elevate serious needs — If a prayer is serious enough to need pastoral attention, you can elevate it to the Intercessory Prayer Wall, where only pastoral staff can see it.

How Members Use the Prayer Wall

As a member, the Prayer Wall is your group's shared prayer journal. You can:

  • Share what is on your heart, knowing your group will pray
  • Encourage others with a kind word or a "prayed for you" tap
  • Celebrate when God answers
  • Look back at the history of your group's prayer life

You do not need to remember every request. Flock remembers for you.

Works Offline, Syncs Automatically

If you are somewhere without a signal — a retreat center, a rural meeting spot, or a plane — you can still browse and submit prayers. Flock saves everything locally and syncs when you are back online. You will never lose a prayer because of a bad connection.
